Supporting Schools

In September 2024 TeamMCR merged with Manchester PE and Teacher Training (MPETT) to become one organisation. The merger has significantly strengthened the support that can be provided for schools and allows us to maximise our strengths and resources fully for the benefit of the partners we serve; namely our young people, teachers and schools across Manchester and beyond.

Our aspiration is for TeamMCR to be a recognised strategic partner in the wider Manchester educational landscape. We strive to achieve this by working with and through partners to tackle the wellbeing crisis facing our children and young people; championing the use of physical activity and sport as tools. We also continue to use our charitable status to generate income, to keep costs down for the schools we serve.

TeamMCR is more than the competitions, events and festivals programme we offer, as you will see from our membership proposal. We want to understand and address the challenges faced by schools and young people and lobby support from local and national partners. We are already working closely with key partners, for example: Manchester Active, GLL, England Hockey, Sport England, Girls FA and Nuffield Health.
